Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for the Learning Disability Community Team in York. The role is fixed term/secondment for 9 months, full-time, based at Systems House in York, with a closing date of 01 November 2026.

You will manage complex cases independently, delivering specialist assessments and psychosocial interventions while leading within the MDT and supporting co-production with individuals, families and carers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months post-qualifying OT experience
• Current registration with regulatory body (e.g., HCPC)
• Postgraduate training in a relevant specialist area if applicable

Responsibilities

• Receive referrals for Occupational Therapy and triage priorities
• Provide evidence-based assessments and interventions for learning disability caseloads
• Deliver co-produced negotiated goals with service users and families
• Contribute to supervision and MDT collaboration
• Lead on service improvements and quality initiatives
• Utilise Trust electronic patient record systems and adhere to policies
