Job summary

The Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in York is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist on a fixed term/secondment basis (9 months) for the Learning Disability Community Team covering York and Selby. The post is full time at Band 6 and requires 18 months post-qualifying OT experience.

You will manage a complex caseload in community settings, delivering specialist assessments and interventions, with a focus on co-production with service users and carers.

Qualifications

• Appropriate professional qualification for occupational therapy.
• Current registration with regulatory body.
• Postgraduate training in relevant specialist area (e.g. dysphagia, autism).
• Minimum 18 months post qualifying OT experience.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary team.
• Understanding the needs of people with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Receive referrals for Occupational Therapy, triage and prioritise.
• Complete evidence-based assessments and interventions addressing key occupational areas.
• Implement co-produced negotiated occupational goals with service users and families.
• Participate in clinical/professional and management supervision.
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working and service improvement.
• Use the Trust electronic patient record system.
• Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
• Respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.
