Job summary

Avian Ecology is seeking a Senior/Principal Ornithologist to lead on projects across the UK, with a focus on renewables and commercial development.

Based in our Lower Stretton near Warrington office, or North Wales, you will coordinate ecologists, liaise with clients and planning authorities, and deliver robust ecological reports for diverse projects.

Consultancy experience and a degree in ecology or biology are required; CIEEM membership is preferred and a full UK driving license is advised.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in ecology or biology
• CIEEM membership preferred
• Full clean UK driving license required
• Consultancy experience is required
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills
• Experience coordinating ecologists and managing sub-consultants

Responsibilities

• Lead projects with a focus on renewables and commercial development across the UK
• Coordinate a team of ecologists and oversee sub-consultants
• Provide robust ecological reports and appendices for EIAs
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities and stakeholders
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to business development
