Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute in London is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist to lead and support advanced organoid and 3D human model projects within SCOP, developing and optimizing complex organoid systems including patient-derived and iPSC-derived models.

You will train researchers, establish new shared workflows, and collaborate across Crick groups to strengthen organoid technologies and stem cell biology capabilities.

Qualifications

• Higher degree in a relevant field (PhD or MSc) with stem cell biology or organoid experience.
• Extensive proficiency in developing and maintaining complex organoid systems.
• Experience with patient-derived and iPSC-derived organoids.
• Strong background in stem cell biology and culture of human pluripotent stem cells.
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and imaging.

Responsibilities

• Leading organoid and stem cell projects across research and service activities within SCOP.
• Developing and optimizing advanced 3D human models, including patient-derived and iPSC-derived organoids.
• Supporting quality control, troubleshooting and reproducibility of organoid workflows.
• Collaborating with research groups and other Science Technology Platforms across the Crick.
• Providing training, mentorship and technical guidance in organoid and stem cell techniques.
• Developing SOPs, project documentation and best-practice workflows.
• Supporting day-to-day laboratory operations and stem cell maintenance activities.
