This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Optometrist as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in a new purpose-built Eye Centre. The role involves supporting pre-operative assessments of patients referred for cataract surgery and independently undertaking post-operative reviews.
Our Ophthalmology service is expanding and is now the largest in Scotland. The new Eye Centre is designed around an innovative patient pathway, utilizing healthcare assistants, ophthalmic technicians, registered nurses, optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. The outpatient department is equipped with OCT, Topography, Specular Microscope, Ultrasound, and digital Slit lamps. The unit aims to deliver high-volume cataract surgery to meet increasing demand over the next 15 years.
The centre is located on the banks of the River Clyde, with views towards the Finnieston crane, situated on the left in front of the main hospital entrance.
We are seeking part-time Senior Optometrists who work within community and/or hospital optometry, assessing a wide range of eye conditions and demonstrating diverse clinical skills.
