We are offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a Senior Optometrist in a new purpose-built Eye Centre. You will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team supporting pre-operative assessments for cataract surgery and conducting post-operative reviews.
Our expanding Ophthalmology service is now the largest in Scotland. The new Eye Centre is designed around an innovative patient pathway, utilizing health care assistants, ophthalmic technicians, registered nurses, optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists. The department is equipped with OCT, Topography, Specular Microscope, Ultrasound, and digital Slit lamps. It aims to deliver high-volume cataract surgeries to meet increasing national demand over the next 15 years.
The unit is located on the banks of the River Clyde, with views of the Finnieston crane, situated at the main hospital entrance.
We are seeking part-time Senior Optometrists with experience in community and/or hospital optometry, capable of assessing a wide range of eye conditions and demonstrating diverse clinical skills.
We offer regular in-house Continuing Education Time and study leave provisions.
