Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Optimization Data Analytics team in the UK. You will split time between supporting top customers and automating data pipelines, turning complex data into clear narratives for merchants and internal stakeholders.

You will build scalable data frameworks, write high-performance queries, and develop Looker dashboards, LookML models, and self-service analytics tools to drive faster decision-making across global teams.

Qualifications

• You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the Data & Analytics field.
• Excellent analytical and data wrangling skills with advanced proficiency in PySpark/Python.
• Experience using descriptive and inferential statistics (distributions, correlations, hypothesis testing, regressions).
• Experience with data visualization platforms (Looker, Tableau).
• Familiarity with Big Data tools and platforms such as Spark and Airflow, and proficiency in Git.
• Ability to design and develop efficient, scalable ETL and data pipelines and automated data validation.
• Ability to write complex, high-performing Python/SQL queries and develop LookML models and Looker dashboards.
• Experience in FinTech or Payments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Framework Development: build scalable, reusable frameworks for evaluating large datasets on key business questions.
• Data Analysis: determine data needs, extract data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to merchants and products.
• Subject Matter Expert: act as Adyen's SME for merchants and internal stakeholders on payment optimization.
• Data Strategy: shape BI/data infra, build self-service tools, and contribute to automation and scaling.
• Storytelling: convert findings into concise, actionable narratives for executives and merchants.
• Stakeholder Management: collaborate with Account Managers, Product teams, and other Analysts; gather requirements and communicate progress.
