Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited in the UK is seeking a Product Analytics and Experimentation specialist within the Data, Analytics & AI directorate. You’ll lead end-to-end A/B test analysis, align with Product Managers, optimise experimentation practices, and turn data into action for digital products across Tesco mobile app and in-store channels.

This role offers hybrid working between London and Welwyn Garden City, with travel between offices.

Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end A/B test analysis, defining measurement frameworks, shaping tracking requirements, validating data sources, applying analytical techniques, and delivering clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
• Partnering with Product Managers, Optimisation Managers, and the Analytics Capabilities team to define hypotheses, experimentation methodologies, success metrics, technical approaches, and measurement requirements, ensuring robust tracking and analytics are in place for all A/B testing activity.
• Escalation and advancement of Tesco’s experimentation capability through the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of advanced statistical methods, analytical techniques, and best practices that improve decision-making and business outcomes.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to data quality, analytical processes, and experimentation workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and the speed of insight generation.
• Managing the experimentation analysis backlog at a stream level, prioritising work and coordinating delivery to ensure timely and effective support for business priorities.
• Supporting the definition of OKR metrics and collaborating with Analytics, UX Insight, and Commercial Personalisation teams to identify opportunities for improving the digital customer experience.
• Coaching and mentoring analysts within the team, promoting best practice in experimentation and analysis, and helping to develop analytical capability across the function.
• Digital analytics, optimisation, or experimentation roles, with a strong understanding of A/B testing methodologies and the value of experimentation in driving business outcomes.
• Applying statistical techniques and experimentation principles to real-world business problems, with the ability to explain analytical findings and complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Partnering effectively with cross-functional teams and contributing across all stages of the product development lifecycle.
• Using large and complex datasets to generate insights, combining data from multiple sources and applying advanced SQL to support analysis.
• Keeping up to date with industry trends, emerging methodologies, and best practices in analytics, experimentation, and optimisation.
