Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is assisting an established Independent Connections Provider in their search for an experienced Operations Manager. The role requires taking full ownership of operations and leading a team of 5 Senior Project Managers delivering electrical infrastructure projects across the UK.

You will work closely with the Director to shape the company’s growth, with a clear pathway to Director level for the right candidate and a strong focus on delivering projects safely, on time,

Qualifications

• Background in construction, contracting, or electrical infrastructure.
• Experience with DNOs, National Grid, or SSEN.
• Substation experience essential, ideally including 132kV and 33kV.
• Circa 8-10 years' relevant industry experience.
• Experience with a Tier 1 contractor would be highly advantageous.
• Leader who seeks long-term progression to director level, not a lateral move.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of operations, managing and supporting a team of Senior Project Managers (5 direct reports)
• Oversee delivery of substation builds, extensions, and cable route projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Act as a key point of contact for major clients including DNOs and National Grid
• Support the business's strategic ambition to achieve Tier 1 contractor status
• Provide strong, hands-on leadership to project teams, with a focus on developing talent and driving operational excellence
• Work closely with the Director on business planning and long-term growth strategy
