Absolute Taste is recruiting a Senior Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day packing and logistics operation. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely packing of food products for customers across travel sectors, working with production kitchens to ensure a smooth operation.

This is a site-based role with a 5 out of 7 days schedule, weekends on a rota basis, overseeing a team of around 60 and delivering exceptional customer service

Job description

The Senior Operations Manager will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running and performance of our packing operation and logistics operation. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely packing of food products for customers across the travel sector, including airlines and other transport providers, working closely with our production kitchens to ensure a smooth operation.

This true people management position, with a team size of 60 colleagues, and is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations or Distribution Manager.

This role is site based - this role requires 5 out of 7 day working - weekends on a rota basis .

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full accountability for the end-to-end operation, ensuring all, packing, warehousing, and dispatch activities run effectively.
• Lead, motivate, and develop an Operations Manager, Supervisors, and wider operational team, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations, promoting a strong safety culture and ensure safe working practices are consistently followed.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing preventative actions.
• Ensure food products are packed to the highest quality standards.
• Work closely with quality and commercial teams to maintain exceptional customer service levels.
• Work closely with Operations Director to support with the management of customer accounts, being a reliable point of contact for our 365 business
• Oversee inventory control, stock accuracy, storage, and distribution processes and monitor operational costs and identify efficiencies without compromising quality or service.

About You:

• Proven experience in a Senior Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Distribution Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Strong background within warehouse, logistics, food production or distribution environments.
• Experience managing large operational teams through supervisory and management structures - experienced driving performance improvement and operational efficiencies.
