Job summary

Last Mile Group in Warrington is seeking a Head of Operations to lead a dispersed team delivering gas, water and electricity infrastructure across the Northwest. You will set strategy, govern safety and quality, manage budgets and ensure delivery meets client expectations across multiple projects.

This senior role requires strong operational leadership, a proven track record in regulated utilities, and a focus on continuous improvement, people development and governance across the region.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior operational management experience, leading large, dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership for operational teams delivering gas, water and electricity infrastructure works across the region.
• Ensure operational activity is delivered safely, efficiently, profitably and to agreed standards.
• Work with senior colleagues to align delivery with objectives and continuous improvement priorities.
• Plan workforce capacity and allocate resources to meet project demand.
• Drive performance through KPIs, reporting and timely resolution of issues.
• Lead, motivate and develop supervisors, engineers and direct labour.
• Champion HSE and quality standards, ensuring compliance with policies and audits.
• Manage tools, plant, equipment and subcontractor performance to control costs.
• Maintain governance and stakeholder relationships across customers and regulators.
