Job summary
Wales & West Utilities Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a First Line Manager to lead teams delivering gas safety, reliability and customer service for millions. You will provide technical support to workforce, drive performance improvements, and oversee activities related to network replacement, maintenance and development.
The role reports to the Performance Manager and involves supervising 15–25 staff, managing a £3 million budget, and ensuring high standards and cost effectiveness,
Qualifications
- Ability to energise teams and deliver results.
- Full driving license and understanding of Wales & West Utilities operations.
- Willingness to standby for 24/7 gas emergency service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire both direct labour and contractor teams
- Maintain our excellent safety record
- Manage a budget of circa £3 million
- Supervise between 15 and 25 industrial staff
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with prescribed and agreed standards and is fully compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
- Prepare reports and provide support and guidance to operational teams to highlight current performance and expected performance
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments/inspections on work carried out on the network to ensure that appropriate standards are maintained or improved in terms of quality and value for money
- Undertake technical audits and reviews as required to ensure a compliant workforce.
