Job summary

St George the Martyr in central London is seeking an experienced Director of Operations / Parish Clerk to lead the parish’s day-to-day running and growth. This senior role reports to the Rector, collaborates with Churchwardens and PCC, and has broad responsibility for finances, governance and staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in operations or organisational leadership.
• Good financial judgement and risk awareness.
• Experience leading people and delegating effectively.
• Ability to analyse complex systems and implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational staff and resources for the parish.
• Strengthen budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
• Improve governance, safeguarding, risk management, and systems.
• Shape future parish support roles and income generation efforts.
• Oversee projects and development of buildings and property, including potential sites.
