Job summary

Sopra Steria is seeking a Senior Operational Risk Manager to lead the second-line risk capability within our Risk & Compliance team. You will manage RMF, provide constructive challenge to first-line teams and help the business make risk-based decisions.

The role is full-time and hybrid, with remote work and occasional travel to client sites across the North West and East. You will coach colleagues and drive effective risk management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of operational risk management principles and frameworks in regulated environments.
• Experience with RCSA, control testing, risk events, issue management and action tracking.
• Ability to provide effective second-line oversight with pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret risk data, identify trends and provide clear insights.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and coordinating with clients and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Manage, review and enhance the operational risk framework, policies and reporting.
• Lead second-line oversight and challenge to ensure risks are understood and managed.
• Oversee RCSA, control testing, risk events and action-tracking processes.
• Embed operational resilience and incident management practices including root cause analysis.
• Develop MI and analytics to identify emerging risks and changes in risk profile.
• Coach colleagues and promote continuous improvement across the business.
