Job summary

FalconSmartIT is seeking a Senior Application Developer in a hybrid role between Birmingham and London. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Progress OpenEdge applications, focusing on ABL/4GL, AppServer, and WebSpeed, while building SOAP/REST API integrations.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of OpenEdge development experience, strong debugging and Agile delivery skills, and proficiency with Azure DevOps/Jira for backlog and sprint management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on Progress OpenEdge development experience.
• Strong expertise in OpenEdge ABL/4GL, including procedural and OO programming.
• Experience with AppServer and WebSpeed development.
• Experience integrating SOAP/REST web services and APIs.
• Familiar with debugging, logging, error handling, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Progress OpenEdge applications.
• Build and troubleshoot OpenEdge AppServer and WebSpeed apps.
• Develop and support SOAP/REST web services and API integrations.
