Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organised, enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join the Oncology and Haematology team. You will support aseptics, assist with chemotherapy products, and contribute to a high-quality pharmacy service across the Trust.

The role requires accuracy, attention to detail and strong communication with patients and healthcare colleagues. Training on EPMA systems and robotic dispensing is provided as part of the Pharmacy Transformation

Qualifications

• Experience in a pharmacy environment with accuracy and patient care focus.
• Knowledge or exposure to chemotherapy products is advantageous.
• Ability to work as part of a clinical team with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the Aseptic Supply Unit (ASU) team to supply aseptically prepared products.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and records for timely supply.
• Accurately dispense outsourced parenteral chemotherapy treatments with traceable batch data.
• Dispense oral chemotherapy and supportive medicines from electronic prescriptions.
• Ensure storage conditions meet manufacturer requirements and document expiry dates.
• Organise and securely store documentation and records for regulatory compliance.
• Promptly report incidents or discrepancies to senior staff for corrective action.
