Job summary
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Acute Oncology. The role is nurse-led, focusing on direct advanced clinical care for patients with oncological/haematological malignancies at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.
This one-year secondment is based in the Acute Oncology Assessment Unit, with a Monday–Friday day pattern, 8am–8pm coverage, and a commitment to flexible working options where service allows.
Qualifications
- Advanced clinical assessment and management skills relevant to oncology/haematology.
- Knowledge of oncological emergencies and complications from cancer/treatment.
- Ability to assess, diagnose and initiate management of complex medical/nursing needs.
- Experience in early recognition and management of clinical deterioration.
- Autonomous working with professional judgement within clinical protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care for patients with oncological/haematological malignancies.
- Detect and respond to clinical deterioration and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in professional autonomy while following agreed protocols.
- Contribute to developing specialist knowledge in acute oncology/haematology.
