Taylor Hopkinson is seeking an experienced Offshore Control Room Operations Engineer to join a major offshore wind project team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining control room policies, procedures and training material, while supporting data management and readiness activities across offshore assets.

The candidate should have a Chartered Engineer status, a BEng degree, Safe Pass, and at least 10 years in power system operations or commissioning.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status is required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in power system operations, commissioning or operational readiness.
• Experience with safety systems.
• Experience in control room operations, including procedures, real-time decision support, escalation and shift environments.
• Strong understanding of control room operating models, SCADA/HMI, alarm management and signal interfaces.
• Experience with offshore transmission assets or HV substations is desirable.
• Experience developing operational policies, procedures, playbooks, training material and acceptance criteria.
• Experience reviewing developer or EPC submissions and handover deliverables.
• Excellent communication, report writing and collaboration skills.
• Full driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain offshore control room operating policies, procedures, playbooks and training material.
• Support signal and data management for the control room and related systems.
• Define operational readiness requirements and escalation paths for offshore control room operations.
• Lead engagement with developers to ensure control room interfaces meet specifications.
• Contribute to human-machine interface requirements and alarm/presentation standards.
• Establish migration and testing philosophies to support progressive project integration.
• Conduct operational design risk assessments and propose mitigations.
• Support interfaces and handover boundaries between control rooms and operators.
• Assist commissioning, energisation and acceptance by reviewing procedures and readiness.
• Contribute to stage-gate reviews and stakeholder communications.
