Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist for the Urgent and Intermediate Care (ICRAS) therapy team in Liverpool & South Sefton. The role involves assessing and treating adults with complex co-morbidities to maintain independence and reduce hospital admissions, while supervising junior staff and leading service projects.

The post covers urgent community response, care transfer hub and intermediate care bed base, operating seven days a week with bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional OT qualification.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience supervising staff and developing services.

Responsibilities

• Complete holistic assessments and treatment plans from initial assessment to discharge.
• Manage a caseload of adults with complex co-morbidities.
• Plan and deliver individual and group interventions in ward and rehab settings.
• Prioritise referrals by need and service capacity.
• Lead service improvement and development projects.
• Provide clinical advice and leadership within the team.
• Supervise and appraise junior staff and support students.
• Liaise with families, carers, GPs and other professionals.
