Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the inpatient acute services at Peasley Cross Hospital, St Helens. The post involves autonomous caseload management, multidisciplinary team collaboration and leadership for junior OT staff.

You will undertake holistic assessments, plan evidence-based interventions, and contribute to service development while focusing on patient safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration or eligible for registration.
• Band 6 role requiring senior OT expertise and autonomous practice.
• Experience in inpatient acute settings and multi-disciplinary team working.

Responsibilities

• Conduct holistic multi-factorial assessments and develop care plans.
• Provide leadership and supervision to junior staff.
• Collaborate with MDT to address falls risk and patient safety.
• Plan, implement and evaluate occupational therapy interventions.
• Maintain high-quality patient records and contribute to service development.
