Priory Group is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist for Priory Hospital Newbury in Berkshire. The post is permanent, full-time, offering £38,983 - £46,882 per year and a 37.5-hour week.

The role focuses on patient recovery, delivering tailored treatment plans and high standards of care within a multidisciplinary team. HCPC registration and substantial mental health experience are essential.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and a qualification in Occupational Therapy (degree, diploma or masters).
• Experience in mental health services as a qualified OT.
• Experience supervising OTs, OTAs and students; training in MoHO, VdTMoCA or Sensory Integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Develop and review person-centred treatment plans to improve daily functioning.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on assessments, care planning and risk management.
• Offer clinical leadership and support to junior therapists, students and others.
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with standards and Priory policies.

Full Time/ 37.5 Hours

Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community. We also provide an acute service, for local male and female patients who are in crisis and require a short admission for support.

We are well-placed to accept patients who need higher levels of care and intensive therapeutic support, as well as those stepping down in acuity.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to the individual needs of patients.
• Develop, implement and review person-centred treatment plans, supporting patients to achieve meaningful goals and improve daily functioning.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, contributing to assessments, care planning, risk management and clinical decision-making.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to junior occupational therapists, students and other members of the therapy team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all practice is delivered in line with professional standards, Priory policies and best practice guidelines.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role – Senior Occupational Therapist

Candidates must be HCPC registered and hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a degree, honours degree, or Master’s in Occupational Therapy, or have completed formal postgraduate study (award or non-award bearing).

They must also have prior experience working in mental health services as a qualified member of staff, experience supervising Occupational Therapists or Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, and training in relevant models of practice such as MoHO, VdTMoCA, and Sensory Integration.
