Job summary

Bright Horizons Ely Day Nursery in Cambridgeshire (CB7 4EX) is seeking a Third in Charge to lead a team and uphold high standards of care and education. The role includes safeguarding, parent and professional liaison, and supporting occupancy growth.

You will mentor staff, promote health and safety, and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when needed. A Level 3+ Early Years qualification and EY experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full and relevant Level 3+ Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as Third in Charge, Room Leader, or Early Years Educator.
• Confident decision-maker with leadership experience.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of child protection requirements.
• Able to build trust and partnerships with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education.
• Promote child welfare, health and safety and safeguarding across the nursery.
• Maintain strong partnerships with parents and professionals to meet each child’s needs.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required and support occupancy retention.
• Engage with Local Authority to understand local offerings and practice.
