Job summary

NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group is seeking a dedicated Nurse Endoscopist for the Gastroenterology department. In this role, you will support the growing Endoscopy Service as an independent practitioner. Your responsibilities include delivering independent endoscopy sessions, working autonomously, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will be a JAG accredited independent practitioner in diagnostic upper and/or lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, focused on improving standards of care and providing clinical education.

Qualifications

• JAG accredited independent practitioner in diagnostic upper and/or lower gastrointestinal endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual episodes of care based on assessment of needs.
• Demonstrate high clinical decision-making and monitor standards of care.
• Work closely with the multi-professional team to develop the service.
• Provide unsupervised clinical care to patients in endoscopy.
• Provide training and education to the team, patients, and their relatives.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Endoscopist to join our Gastroenterology department. The role will support the growing Endoscopy Service as an independent practitioner. You will deliver independent endoscopy sessions, help our Trust meet national targets, work autonomously, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual episodes of care to a client group based on assessment of physical, social, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Demonstrate high level clinical decision‑making and monitor and improve standards of care, working within the scope of professional practice.
• Work closely with the multi‑professional team to develop the nurse endoscopist service and deliver expert nursing practice without direct medical supervision, in line with Trust protocols.
• Provide unsupervised clinical care to patients in endoscopy.
• Provide training and education to the multi‑professional team, patients and their relatives.
