Job summary

East Cheshire NHS Trust in Macclesfield is seeking an experienced Upper GI Nurse Endoscopist to support the Endoscopy Service. The post requires autonomous practice, managing full patient episodes and a dedicated caseload for diagnostic Upper GI endoscopy.

The role demands high-quality, patient-centered care within a dynamic multidisciplinary team at Macclesfield District General Hospital, with emphasis on service innovation and clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse on part 1, 3, 5 or 8 of the NMC Register.
• JAG accreditation for Endoscopist role on JAG Endoscopy Training System (JETS) site
• Evidence of recent continuing professional development
• Evidence of training/update on lower GI therapeutic endoscopic intervention
• Cannulation
• Nurse prescriber
• Hold or be working towards a master’s degree
• BoSS registered endoscopist or willingness to train to undertake the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist and advanced clinical knowledge, skills and decision-making within Endoscopy/Gastroenterology.
• Undertake Upper GI endoscopy procedures as a qualified Nurse Endoscopist.
• Work autonomously, managing whole episodes of patient care.
• Be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Have own caseload of patients for whom you will perform upper GI diagnostic endoscopy.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality service.
