Job summary

ALTEN UK is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Structural Design Engineer to lead RC and steel design for the Nuclear Island of EPR plants. You will coordinate with international teams and regulators to ensure safety and compliance.

This role focuses on heavy, long-life, safety-critical concrete engineering rather than commercial building design, offering complex challenges and growth within a global engineering group.

Qualifications

• Proven RC and steel structure design experience for large-scale projects.
• Solid understanding of Eurocodes and related design standards.
• Experience with structural analysis tools and BIM coordination.
• Experience on construction sites and liaison with clients/regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead an international design team on Nuclear Island structures for EPR plants.
• Design and analyze reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Ensure compliance with Eurocode, ETC-C, and nuclear safety standards.
• Assess seismic, dynamic, and construction loads for integrity.
• Collaborate with BIM teams, drafters and engineers for coordination.
• Deliver technical documents, drawings, and specs.
• Provide on-site support during construction and mentoring.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and construction teams for safety compliance.
