Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited in Glasgow seeks a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer within AEDC to lead safety case activities, deliver safety analyses, and support complex defence programmes across the UK. You will work with partners, regulators and clients to ensure Right First Time delivery and safe, compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
• Chartered (or working towards Chartership status).
• Technical practitioner in Nuclear/Defence domains with good engineering judgement.

Responsibilities

• Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
• Working with project partners to ensure a safety informed design.
• Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate Right First Time delivery (designers, client, site, regulator).
• Undertaking safety assessments and safety analyses (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
• Producing safety reports and other technical documents (PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports).
• Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
• Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
