Working collaboratively with the Nuclear Medicine Lead and wider multidisciplinary team, you'll also contribute to the introduction of new procedures, techniques and services as our offering continues to evolve.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing expertise, broaden your experience in specialist cancer imaging and contribute to the development of innovative Theranostics services.

  • Undertake PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanning, ensuring imaging quality meets departmental requirements.
  • Carry out daily quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and contribute to the department's wider quality assurance programme.

  • Provide clear advice and reassurance to patients and their carers regarding imaging procedures, radioactive materials and radiation safety.
  • Organise routine and urgent clinical work to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.
  • Support the introduction of new procedures, techniques and services, including developments in Theranostics.
  • Work in accordance with departmental protocols, local rules, radiation protection policies and relevant statutory requirements, including IR(ME)R.
  • Promote safe working practices, identify potential risks and contribute to clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build effective working relationships with consultants, radiologists, physicists, pharmacists, nurses, imaging colleagues and the wider clinical trials team.
  • Maintain your professional knowledge and skills through continuing professional development.
What You’ll Bring

Essential requirements:

  • A sound understanding of radiation protection legislation, quality assurance, health and safety and relevant clinical governance requirements.
  • An intravenous access/venepuncture and cannulation certificate.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • An empathetic, patient-centred approach and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
