We're looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Nuclear Medicine Radiographer to join our specialist team at GenesisCare Guildford. You'll bring your clinical expertise to a varied role spanning routine and complex Nuclear Medicine investigations, advanced imaging techniques and support for the development of our evolving services.

This is a full-time, centre-based position offering an excellent work-life balance, with no weekend or late-evening working. Our rapid-access outpatient service gives you the opportunity to focus on delivering outstanding patient care in a supportive, specialist environment.

If you're passionate about clinical excellence, innovation and making a meaningful difference to people living with cancer, this could be your next career move.

The Role

As Senior Nuclear Medicine Radiographer, you'll undertake routine and complex Nuclear Medicine investigations and therapeutic procedures, maintaining high standards of clinical practice, imaging quality and patient care.

You’ll work with advanced PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging equipment, contribute to departmental quality assurance and support the safe administration of radioactive substances.

Working collaboratively with the Nuclear Medicine Lead and wider multidisciplinary team, you’ll also contribute to the introduction of new procedures, techniques and services as our offering continues to evolve.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing expertise, broaden your experience in specialist cancer imaging and contribute to the development of innovative Theranostics services.

What You'll Do
  • Perform routine and complex Nuclear Medicine investigations and therapeutic procedures to a high clinical standard.
  • Undertake PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanning, ensuring imaging quality meets departmental requirements.
  • Carry out daily quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and contribute to the department's wider quality assurance programme.
  • Perform venepuncture and cannulation to support the safe administration of radioactive substances.
  • Provide clear advice and reassurance to patients and their carers regarding imaging procedures, radioactive materials and radiation safety.
  • Organise routine and urgent clinical work to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.
  • Support the introduction of new procedures, techniques and services, including developments in Theranostics.
  • Work in accordance with departmental protocols, local rules, radiation protection policies and relevant statutory requirements, including IR(ME)R.
  • Promote safe working practices, identify potential risks and contribute to clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.
  • Build effective working relationships with consultants, radiologists, physicists, pharmacists, nurses, imaging colleagues and the wider clinical trials team.
  • Maintain your professional knowledge and skills through continuing professional development.
What You’ll Bring

Essential requirements:

  • At least three years' post-qualification experience, demonstrating continued clinical development.
  • A high level of competence in PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanning.
  • Broad knowledge of routine and complex Nuclear Medicine imaging techniques.
  • A sound understanding of radiation protection legislation, quality assurance, health and safety and relevant clinical governance requirements.
  • An intravenous access/venepuncture and cannulation certificate.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • An empathetic, patient-centred approach and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
  • A proactive, flexible approach, with the ability to contribute to evolving clinical services.
Desirable
  • Experience of Theranostics and radionuclide therapies. Training will be provided where required.
  • Experience supporting the introduction of new clinical procedures and techniques.
