Job summary

CapeClarke is partnering with a highly regarded City law firm in London to recruit a Non-Contentious Construction Lawyer at Senior Associate / Legal Director level. The role focuses on high‑value, complex projects and offers substantial client responsibility.

You will take ownership of matters, draft, negotiate and advise on JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contracts, and work across real estate, development and infrastructure matters with senior partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE with non-contentious construction.
• Experience with a leading law firm or in-house environment.
• Strong drafting and negotiation across JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contracts.
• Experience advising on development, infrastructure and major construction projects.
• Understanding procurement, project delivery and risk allocation.
• Ability to run matters independently within wider project teams.
• Strong client relationships and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers.
• Interest in business development and growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad range of construction and engineering contracts.
• Advising on JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke forms of contract.
• Development agreements, forward funding arrangements and development finance transactions.
• Real estate-led construction and development projects.
• Major infrastructure, energy, industrial, remediation and process plant projects.
• Advising clients on procurement strategies, risk allocation and project delivery.
• Working alongside colleagues across Real Estate, Corporate, Finance, Projects and Regulatory on complex, multidisciplinary transactions.
