Job summary

Inabia Software & Consulting Inc. in London seeks a Senior Network Test Engineer to test 5G/LTE, Wi‑Fi, and broadband/IP networks for a major telecom program.

The role is onsite in London with periodic travel to Luton, long-term contract, and requires hands-on lab and field testing of CPE, routers, switches, and VPN endpoints. The ideal candidate has strong LTE/5G RAN or drive-testing background, solid IP networking knowledge, and hands-on use of Wireshark, iPerf, and tcpdump.

Qualifications

• Broadband/CPE validation experience required.
• Strong IP networking fundamentals (routing, NAT, VLANs, DHCP, DNS).
• Hands-on experience with network test and diagnostic tools (Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump).
• Ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot complex testbeds across wireless and IP domains.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Fluent or professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Validate broadband & CPE / gateway devices in lab and field.
• Validate performance across fiber, DSL, wireless broadband, and Ethernet backhaul.
• Execute LAN/WAN configuration workflows, device onboarding, and end-to-end connectivity validation.
• IP Networking, Routing & VPN Testing: configure IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, port forwarding, firewall rules.
• Test VPN technologies: IPsec, SSL VPNs, WireGuard, OpenVPN.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2–Layer 7 connectivity using Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, iPerf.
• Testbed Setup & Environment Ownership: build/maintain test environments with routers, switches, servers, VPN endpoints.
• Ensure test repeatability via documentation, configuration management, and version control.
• Integrate new firmware, OS builds, and network parameters into test cycles.
• Tools, Log Analysis & Reporting: use Wireshark, tcpdump, iPerf, Rasberry Pi.
• Produce clear test plans, defect reports, KPI dashboards, and root-cause analyses.
• Collaborate with broadband engineers, device OEMs, and network operators.
