Job summary

The London Metal Exchange Limited in London is seeking a Senior Network Security Specialist to design, implement and govern enterprise network security controls across on‑premises, cloud and containerised environments.

You will lead Zero Trust and micro‑segmentation initiatives, work with multiple teams, mentor engineers and contribute to security by design while maintaining high availability of LAN/WAN/data centre services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in regulated, mission‑critical environments with enterprise network security engineering
• Experience defining network segmentation and micro‑segmentation strategies
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust networking & identity‑aware access controls
• Firewall and proxy policy design across on‑prem, cloud and containerised platforms
• Automation and IaC approaches for security controls deployment
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift security implementations
• Experience with PAN‑OS, Fortinet, Zscaler platforms
• Strong networking theory (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPN, NAT, DNS)
• Hands‑on network analytics and monitoring tooling
• ITILv3 incident, problem and change management familiarity

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise network security controls (firewalls, proxies, secure access)
• Act as technical authority for major security platforms (PAN, Fortinet, Zscaler)
• Ensure policies across data centre, campus, cloud and hybrid environments
• Lead complex troubleshooting balancing security, performance and availability
• Define the network security roadmap aligned with strategy
• Develop Zero Trust and least‑privilege architectures
• Define micro‑segmentation for traditional and containerised workloads
• Contribute design input for cloud adoption and automation projects
• Produce design artefacts and evidence for audits and regulatory obligations
• Mentor engineers and promote security by design in cross‑functional teams
