Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Basildon, Essex is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a UK MSP/ISP with its own datacentre infrastructure. You will design, install, migrate and support network estates, both internal and for customers, across core routing and edge connectivity.

The role focuses on hands-on responsibilities with BGP, Cisco Nexus/ASR, Fortinet FortiGate, and FortiManager in a service-provider context. A 24/7 on-call rota and on-call/payments are included.

Qualifications

• Senior-level network engineering experience within MSP/ISP/service-provider environments.
• Extensive hands-on BGP experience: design, peering, route policy and production troubleshooting.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience, especially Nexus/ASR.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of network installation and migration projects from start to finish.
• Work with the Network Manager, Account Managers and customers to deliver projects.
• Maintain and develop the ISP and datacentre network including core routing, peering, transit and edge connectivity.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot multi-customer firewall environments with FortiGate/FortiManager/Sophos XG.
• Configure and support Cisco Nexus datacentre and ASR edge/service-provider platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, including peering and route policies.
• Maintain and develop network monitoring and alerting systems.
• Provide technical support across customer and internal network environments.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota with separate on-call allowance and paid callouts.
• Attend customer sites/datacentres for installations, migrations and support when required.
