Job summary

Claranet in Gloucester is looking for a Level 3 Network Operations Engineer to provide advanced operational support and configuration management for financial services clients. The role focuses on complex incident resolution and performance optimisation across various network environments.

You will lead configuration management initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting onboarding through automation. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in network engineering, with strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with SDWAN technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated/financial environments managing complex incidents.
• Strong understanding of network principles and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in change management and performance optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex incidents across various platforms.
• Implement network configuration changes while maintaining compliance.
• Support onboarding and automation initiatives for new services.

Skills

Advanced routing & switching (BGP/OSPF, ACLs, NAT)

SDWAN technologies (e.g. Fortinet, Cisco)

Wireless LAN operations and performance tuning

F5 or equivalent load-balancing platforms

Automation or scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible)

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Network compliance and configuration management

CI/CD for network configuration (Python, Terraform, Ansible)

Education

4+ years’ hands-on experience in network engineering
