Job summary

NHS Highland is inviting applications for a Network Specialist to join the HSCP eHealth team. The post focuses on delivering a high-level networking service, managing and upgrading network hardware, and ensuring security across NHS Highland sites.

The role requires a degree or HND and at least five years in a similar role within large corporate networks, with travel across the HSCP and NHS Highland, and some unsocial hours. A clean driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND or equivalent level.
• At least five years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in large corporate network environments is essential.
• Willingness to travel across the HSCP and NHS Highland areas, with periods of unsocial hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage and upgrade NHS Highland's network hardware (switches, firewalls, wireless, telephony) across hospitals, GP practices and health care sites.
• Install and decommission network assets and manage firewall policies and security.
• Collaborate with NHS Scotland boards, public bodies and partners, including Argyll & Bute Council ICT networking team when required.
• Provide a high level networking service and support to the HSCP eHealth team.
