Job summary

ECS Resource Group is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Business Systems team in Cheltenham. You will develop, maintain, and evolve core business applications and integrations, ensuring scalable, reliable solutions that support day-to-day operations and growth.

You will work hands-on across development, database optimisation, and system integrations, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver pragmatic solutions and ongoing improvements using Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of the full development lifecycle and deployment processes.
• Proven expertise in SQL Server performance tuning and data design.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, middleware, and data flows.
• Strong collaboration with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance business applications, integrations, and internal systems, ensuring scalable and reliable solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Support and improve existing systems by troubleshooting issues and optimising performance.
• Design and deliver system integrations (APIs, middleware, data exchange) with robust data flows.
• Take ownership of database performance including schema design, indexing, and tuning.
• Manage data processes such as imports, exports, transformation, and reconciliation across multiple systems.
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Support release management, version control, and deployment processes for stable system changes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure integrations operate effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement by modernising legacy systems and leveraging AI/automation where appropriate.
