Job summary

ECS Resource Group Ltd is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Cheltenham-based Business Systems team. Hybrid role focusing on development, database optimisation, and system integrations to support day-to-day operations and business growth.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, modernise legacy systems, and explore AI-enabled improvements while delivering reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies: C#, .NET, SQL Server.
• Experience with full MS stack including WPF and Windows Forms; server integrations like OData, WCF, REST APIs.
• Solid understanding of full development lifecycle including support and improvements.
• Proven expertise in SQL Server: performance tuning, design and optimization.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, middleware (Connex or similar), and data flows (ETL, mapping).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues across interconnected platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance business applications, integrations, and internal systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Support and improve existing systems by troubleshooting and optimising performance.
• Design and deliver system integrations (APIs, middleware, data exchange).
• Take ownership of database performance, schema design, indexing, and data integrity.
• Manage data processes like imports, exports, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Contribute to full development lifecycle including testing, deployment, and support.
• Support release management, version control and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure smooth operation.
• Contribute to modernising legacy systems and adopting best practices.
• Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency.
