Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Senior Naval Architect to join the Bristol area team at Stoke Gifford, offering hybrid working arrangements and a structured career path within our Nuclear business.

You will influence the safety, capability and availability of the Royal Navy's submarine fleet, delivering through-life maintenance planning and engineering optimisation across complex defence assets and with national security in mind.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture or related engineering with significant structural engineering experience.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with a demonstrable plan to achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural maintenance requirements throughout the lifecycle of submarine platforms.
• Support through-life asset management, maintenance planning and engineering optimisation activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Babcock, the Royal Navy, MOD and industry partners.
• Assess structural engineering requirements, surveillance activities and defect rectification programmes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with engineering policies and standards.
