Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior/Principal Naval Architect to work on submarine platform manoeuvring modelling and related hydrodynamic analysis across multiple sites including Barrow-in-Furness, Bristol, Portsmouth or Frimley.

You will conduct analysis from concept design to in-service support, developing and validating complex manoeuvring models while collaborating with enterprise partners and Naval Architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Experience generating ship or submarine manoeuvring modelling.
• Strong understanding of hydrodynamic principles and methods.
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse submarine platform manoeuvring performance from concept to in-service support.
• Develop, verify and validate mathematical manoeuvring models using physical model data.
• Collaborate with Naval Architecture teams and customers to deliver safe submarine solutions and support hydrodynamic sea trials.
