Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior/Principal Naval Architect to analyse and model submarine manoeuvring performance from concept through in-service support. You will develop, verify and validate mathematical models using physical test data, collaborating with Naval Architecture teams and customers to deliver innovative, safe submarine solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in generating ship or submarine manoeuvring modelling.
• Strong understanding of hydrodynamic principles and methods.
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze submarine platform manoeuvring performance from concept to in-service support.
• Develop, verify and validate mathematical manoeuvring models using physical model data.
• Collaborate with enterprise partners to develop modelling capabilities and toolsets.
• Work with Naval Architecture teams and customers to deliver safe submarine solutions.
• Support hydrodynamic sea trials and major design programmes.
