Job summary

BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness, Bristol, Portsmouth or Frimley is seeking a Senior/Principal Naval Architect to lead submarine manoeuvring analysis from concept through in-service support. You will develop, verify and validate mathematical manoeuvring models using physical test data, and work with enterprise partners and the Whole Boat Design Team on major submarine programmes for the Royal Navy.

Qualifications

• Experience generating ship or submarine manoeuvring modelling.
• Strong understanding of hydrodynamic principles and methods.
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics or relevant equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse submarine platform manoeuvring performance from concept design to in-service support.
• Develop, verify and validate mathematical manoeuvring models using physical model test data.
• Collaborate with Naval Architecture teams and customers to deliver advanced submarine solutions.
