Job summary

Crg Tec in Yorkshire is seeking a Senior Switchgear Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Huddersfield. This hybrid role offers up to £55,000 plus DOE and benefits, focusing on MV/HV switchgear design and power distribution systems.

You'll translate customer requirements into practical engineered solutions across switchgear, protection and control systems, Substations and distribution equipment, while supporting tendering and project delivery.

Qualifications

Switchgear or switchboard design experience.
MV/HV engineering knowledge.
Protection & Control expertise.
Electrical Project Engineering experience.
Tendering / Proposals Engineering experience.
Commissioning / Testing experience.
Strong power systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop technical designs & application solutions for MV/HV power distribution equipment.
Produce & review single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, equipment configurations & technical documentation.
Work with MV switchgear, circuit breakers, protection relays, CT/VT arrangements & control systems.
Interpret customer specifications & translate requirements into engineered solutions.
Support tendering & commercial teams with technical input during bid stages.
Provide engineering support throughout project delivery, manufacturing & testing.
Work closely with customers, project engineers, manufacturing & wider engineering teams.
Ensure designs meet relevant technical standards, specifications & project requirements.
Develop specialist product knowledge with structured support from experienced engineers.
