Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a fully qualified Electrical Engineer for the Maintenance team at Burnley General Hospital. The role focuses on safe operation, fault diagnosis, and ongoing maintenance of electrical engineering services and building plant.

Qualifications

Qualified to City and Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3 Electrical engineering.
Completed recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training.
Willing to participate in NHS maintenance development programmes.
Ability to plan, organise and lead maintenance across trades.

Responsibilities

Carry out maintenance work on LV electrical engineering services, plant and equipment.
Interpret technical manuals and diagnose faults using cause‑effect analysis.
Assist in commissioning and problem solving of new services.
Lead and supervise maintenance staff and contractors as part of the team.
Possess a full UK driving licence and operate hospital transport as needed.
