Job summary

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing to lead strategic HSW across multiple highways and infrastructure contracts. Based in Bristol, you will shape safety culture, drive continuous improvement and ensure legal compliance with UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations.

You will build and coach high-performing HSW teams, oversee audits and investigations, monitor KPIs, and collaborate with clients and senior stakeholders to embed best practice and wellbeing initiatives

Qualifications

Experience leading HSW across multi-site operations.
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

Provide visible HSW leadership across multiple operations, projects and contracts.
Lead, develop and coach HSW teams, promoting high standards and accountability.
Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Oversee audits, inspections, compliance reviews and corrective actions.
Lead incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring root cause analysis.
Monitor HSW performance, KPIs and emerging risks to drive improvement.
Build relationships with clients, senior stakeholders and supply-chain partners.
Champion wellbeing and mental health initiatives across the organisation.
Support senior management with HSW strategy and business improvement.
Drive best practice and continuous improvement across HSW systems.
