Job summary

Chemify is seeking a Senior/Staff Machine Learning Scientist to shape the AI/ML stack across chemistry, vision, search, and agents on our robotic platform. You will work with chemists, software and hardware engineers to apply AI/ML to build the next generation of Chemify’s platform.

This role spans generative chemistry, computer vision for telemetry, and agentic workflows, with productionising models and leadership across the team.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in ML, CS, statistics, physics, or related field with 5+ years (Senior) or 8+ years (Staff) of hands-on applied ML experience.
• Deep familiarity with modern deep learning stack (PyTorch or JAX) and breadth across multiple areas.
• Experience taking ML from prototype to production: reproducible pipelines, distributed jobs, and cloud/HPC workflows.
• Clear communication with non-ML scientists and engineers; ability to span new domains.
• Staff level track record in technical leadership: mentoring, standards, direction beyond own projects.

Responsibilities

• Build generative and foundation chemistry models for molecular design.
• Advance retrosynthesis and synthesis-aware ML using reaction databases and robot-execution data.
• Apply computer vision to transform robot telemetry into state-aware models.
• Prototype agentic workflows that orchestrate models, tools, and the platform.
• Productionise models into an API-first toolkit; collaborate with GPU training and HPC teams.
• Mentor junior ML scientists and help shape hiring and growth.
• Set technical direction across AI/ML stack and lead cross-cutting initiatives.
