Job summary

Chemify in Glasgow is seeking a Senior / Staff Machine Learning Scientist to work across generative chemistry, planning, vision, and agentic workflows on a platform that links design to physical experiments.

You will partner with chemists, software and hardware engineers, applying AI/ML to build the next generation of Chemify's platform and help shape its technical direction at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a quantitative field with 5+ years hands-on ML experience.
• Experience bringing ML from prototype to production with scalable pipelines.
• Ability to mentor and lead, and communicate with non-ML stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build generative and foundation chemistry models for molecular design.
• Advance retrosynthesis and synthesis‑aware ML using reaction data and robot data.
• Apply computer vision to robot telemetry for process monitoring and control.
• Prototype agentic workflows that orchestrate models, tools, and platform.
• Productionise models into a reproducible API‑first toolkit; collaborate on GPU training.
• Mentor junior ML scientists and help set technical direction.
