Job summary

Chemify Ltd in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to build and evolve the next generation of our automated chemistry platform. You’ll work in a tight-knit, cross-functional team spanning software, hardware, data, AI, and infrastructure shipping real features against real science, fast.

You’ll own features end-to-end, contribute to architecture, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with scientists and AI researchers to push the boundaries of chemistry and robotics.

Qualifications

• BS/Cs or equivalent required; strong foundations in software engineering.
• 5+ years of commercial full-stack engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python and web frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask) is expected.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and ORM design.
• Strong TypeScript/React experience and a passion for UI/UX.
• Hands-on with containerised deployments (Docker) and CI/CD (GitLab/ArgoCD).
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex requirements into impactful features across our application suite.
• Own the full feature lifecycle from scoping to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure to ensure sound architecture and production-readiness.
• Champion testing practices and maintain docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to communities of practice.
• Drive cross-team initiatives and improve processes.
