Job summary

Nebius is seeking senior ML engineers to join the R&D team focused on Applied AI. You will modify large foundation models for robotic agents, prototype new capabilities in simulation, and validate promising approaches on real-world systems, collaborating with adjacent research, infrastructure, and engineering teams to scale findings into practical deployments.

You should have deep ML theory in reinforcement or robot learning, experience with Python and JAX, and be comfortable running experiments

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of ML theory, RL, or robot learning.
• Experience training and evaluating large DL models across multiple nodes.
• Strong Python software engineering and algorithm design skills.
• Experience with transformer-based or multimodal foundation models.
• Ability to design rigorous ML experiments and analyze results.
• Excellent communication and leadership across research and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, train, and evaluate large models for robotic agents.
• Develop vision-language-action architectures connecting multimodal perception with physical control.
• Investigate RL and imitation learning methods for sparse objectives.
• Build scalable methods for incorporating demonstrations, teleoperation data, video, and simulation into foundation models.
• Design capture methodologies and data pipelines for embodied learning.
• Develop simulation environments and conduct sim-to-real experiments on robotic platforms.
• Explore planning, guided generation, and search over action trajectories.
• Prototype capabilities in dexterous and mobile manipulation for robotic agents.
• Write robust research software and distributed training infrastructure for rapid experimentation.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to translate ideas into real-world systems.
• Communicate results through technical reports, open-source releases, demonstrations, and publications.
