Job summary

METS Laboratories in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Microbiologist – Team Lead to independently manage and oversee laboratory operations, quality systems, and compliance.

You will lead staff, ensure microbiology testing procedures are performed to ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL/UKAS requirements, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate daily activities to maintain high standards of accuracy and turnaround times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Commercial Testing Laboratories.
• Ability to manage laboratory operations independently.
• Strong knowledge of microbiology testing procedures and lab operations.
• Good understanding of ISO standards, particularly ISO/IEC 17025.
• Experience with NABL and/or UKAS accredited laboratories.
• Knowledge of quality systems, documentation and compliance.
• Ability to lead and coordinate laboratory staff.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience maintaining laboratory quality and operational standards.
