Job summary

Catering, a market-leading multi-brand retailer, is seeking a Senior Merchandiser in Manchester. You will own the sales, stock and intake strategy for your categories, lead weekly and seasonal trade analysis and partner with Buying to shape range architecture and future planning.

This fast-paced, transformation-driven role offers real ownership, the chance to influence senior stakeholders, coach junior team members and deliver tangible commercial impact. Salary £50,000–£60,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser in fashion.
• Commercially sharp with ability to translate data into trading decisions.
• Comfortable working at pace through change.
• Natural leader able to influence senior stakeholders and develop juniors.
• Excited to shape and improve processes, not just maintain them.
• Strong systems skills with merchandise planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Owning the sales, stock and intake strategy for your categories, ensuring plans are commercially robust and aligned to business targets
• Leading weekly and seasonal trade analysis, identifying risk and opportunity, and driving decisive action
• Partnering closely with Buying to shape range architecture, OTB and future range planning
• Managing markdown, promotional and clearance strategy to protect margin while maximising sell-through
• Coaching and developing an Assistant Merchandiser/Merchandiser within your team
• Building strong cross-functional relationships across Buying, Planning, Supply Chain and Retail
• Presenting clear, confident trade updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Playing an active role in wider transformation initiatives, bringing fresh thinking to established ways of working
