Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to own the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages on major projects. You will lead cost planning, procurement, and final accounts while ensuring contractor performance aligns with budget targets and client expectations.

The role requires a degree in QS or related field and experience in MEP surveying, with Chartered status desirable. A driving licence is preferred to support site and client visits.

Qualifications

• Degree and professional qualification in QS/related discipline or equivalent.
• Experience in MEP Quantity Surveying or Building Services environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services packages.
• Experience managing MEP costs from pre-contract through final account.
• Familiarity with NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages across multiple projects.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, estimates and tender documentation.
• Manage procurement activities, contractor appointments and tender evaluations.
• Administer contracts and maintain commercial compliance throughout project lifecycles.
• Oversee valuations, variations, change control and final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Support value engineering and risk management initiatives.
• Monitor commercial performance against programme and budget targets.
• Lead commercial meetings, workshops and client presentations where required.

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Cambridge team.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior MEP Surveyor:

About You
You'll be an experienced MEP surveying professional with a strong understanding of building services packages on major construction projects.
Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
• Proven experience within an MEP Quantity Surveying or Building Services environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services packages.
• Experience managing MEP costs from pre-contract through to final account.
• Familiarity with NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Working towards or already achieved chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is desirable.
• A proactive, commercially aware mindset and ambition to progress within a growing consultancy.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
